Al Raffah Hospital, Muscat Inaugurated

The 40-bed hospital will be expanded to 100 beds in the second phase


Al Raffah Hospital, Muscat

Muscat-based Al Raffah Hospital, the second private sector hospital in the Sultanate of Oman, was recently inaugurated by Vayalar Ravi, Cabinet Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs. The hospital, with 40-beds in initial phase, will be expanded to 100 beds in the second phase. The overall investment will be around Omani Rial (RO) 5 million.

Located in the heart of the city near Al Ghobra Round About, the hospital belonging to Dr Moopen's Group has qualified and experienced consultants and specialists doctors in multi-disciplines supported by skilled nursing and paramedical staff. It is well equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities, including two modern OTs with laparoscopic surgical facilities to perform minimally invasive surgeries. The diagnostic facilities include a 6 slice CT, 3D/4D ultra sound scanners, well equipped laboratory with exclusive facilities for visa medical screening. Emergency Care with fully-equipped ambulance is available round the clock.

The hospital has a special cell for taking care of the patients requiring advanced tertiary care treatments in its super speciality hospitals in India like MIMS Hospital, Kozikode where the cost of such treatments are much lesser than most of the European or Western Countries with high expertise and skills, and the patients will be benefited from comprehensive medical care given under one umbrella.

Dr Moopen's Group, the largest healthcare service provider in the Middle East and the subcontinent, has seven hospitals, 24 medical centres (MEDCENTRES) and 48 Pharmacies (MEDSHOPS) with presence in UAE, Oman, Qatar and India. Dr Moopen's Group is having ambitious plans of expansion in GCC and India, with an investment of $ 250 million over a period of next five years.

Said Dr Azad Moopen, Chairman, Dr Moopen's Group, "The hospital projects in Sohar and Riyadh are likely to be inaugurated towards the end of the year and the projects in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait are in the different stages of finalisation. We have entered into a MoU with WJ Towel Group, one of the premier business houses of Oman, to form part of its ongoing expansion plans in the Sultanate. As part of the expansion plans in India, we have unveiled plan for a healthcare city called ‘MEDCITY’ at Kochi, for which part of land has already been acquired."
